Another Thursday night, another football game featuring teams with losing records. Seems like the NFL is trying to torture us with these thursday primetime matchups. Hopefully everyone's already forgot about last week's absolute stinker, that was most definitely torture.
I am not sure what to say about this matchup to get anyone excited. But let me try. How about the comeback story of rookie, Brian Robinson Jr., who played his first NFL game this past Sunday exactly 6 weeks after being shot twice in the leg during a car robbery. There were high expectations for the rookie entering the season with some of the opinion that he could eventually take over starting RB duties for the Commanders. He was on a limited snap count in his first game back, will we start to see some flashes of that talent in game two?
On the other side we have second year Bears' QB, Justin Fields, who had very high expectations after the Bears traded up in the draft to select him with the 11th pick. After an Ohio State career where his fans dubbed him the best QB to play at the school, Bears' fans especially felt he was going to come in and take the league by storm. Wellllll that's certainly not been the case to start his second season as he's averaging a league worst 136 passing yards per game and second worst in passer rating. However, there are some signs of weekly progress after his best performance of the season last week. Can he continue his run of weekly improvements to bring the Bears back to a .500 record?
