Is Baseball exciting?

Oh yea! Baseball is one of the most exciting sports to watch, despite popular belief. Baseball is highly strategic, with athletic excellence displayed by the batter, the pitcher, and when players are in the field. The MLB (Major League Baseball) regular season runs from Opening Day in April to September each year, making it a great summer activity to watch with friends. Batter v. Pitcher - A Story of Home Runs & Strikeouts

One of the most exciting aspects of baseball is watching batters step up to the plate to go 1-to-1 with pitchers. If the pitcher can get three strikes past the batter, that's called a strikeout. If, however, the batter can connect with the ball and hits it out of the park, that's called a home run and it scores a point. Home runs are one of the most exciting events in baseball, especially if you're sitting in the outfield and are able to catch the ball! There are now new rules in the MLB to try to increase the amount of action we see batters create from the plate. 

 

Winning the World Series and other MLB Awards

There are many ways to recognize MLB players. First, it is a dream for most baseball players to be on the World Series winning team. There are also individual awares like the Cy Young Award for pitchers, MVP (Most Valuable Player) Award for the player that best contributes to the team, and Rookie of the Year Award which goes to the best new player in the MLB. On top of that, baseball is a heavily statistics-focused game. You can look at stats like ERA (earned run average) or batting average (which takes into account how well a batter hits, including number of strikeouts) to see how a player is performing.
