There were a lot of parallels between these two teams entering the season. Both made massive bets in the offseason by trading for established Super Bowl tested veteran QBs, Russell Wilson to the Broncos and Matt Ryan to the Colts. Both entered the year with young studs at RB, Broncos' Javonte Williams and Colts' Jonathan Taylor, as well as at WR, Broncos' Courtland Sutton/Jerry Jeudy and Colts' Michael Pittman Jr. Both had middle of the pack but historically stable defenses. And most importantly, both were seen as contenders to win their division and make the playoffs.
Boy how four games can change things. Wilson and Ryan look like they've both aged years in the offseason and are shells of themselves. Williams is now out for the rest of the season and the reigning NFL rushing leader Taylor now has a badly banged up ankle and is out for this game. While they both sit third in their division, they are not totally out of it, but something drastic needs to change if playoff football is in their future.
And if nothing changes in this game, and it's a sluggish affair as most games these two have played this year, we are always here to help get you through it with some added friendly competition. Add additional fun by picking a side on our Props below and compete against friends to see who can get the most correct.
