I know we have our first international game of the year this week in London for some early morning football, but what logical sense is there to have 9 games to follow in the early slate and only 3 afternoon games? Can't we spread these out a little bit?
Anyways, as always we are here to add some additional fun to a few of your Sunday slate of NFL games. Pick a side with our Props and see how many you can get correct competing against friends, family, partners, roommates, really anyone. All our Props have nearly even chances of happening, so it doesn't matter how much you know, all can play.
Chicago Bears @ New York Giants
Somehow one of these teams are going to be 3-1 after this game, assuming no tie which no one wants to see. That is a big deal for two teams who were projected to win 6 to 8 games at the beginning of the season. In fact, historically a 3-1 start on average results in 10 wins overall and a 62% of making the playoffs (in a 16 game season and old playoff format). With the changes to add an additional game and playoff teams this year, that playoff probability is closer to 67%. Now that we know what's at stake, who is going to capitalize on this opportunity?
Team to score first field goal: Bears OR Giants
Total combined points in first half of 20 or more: Yes OR No
Giants to win by 3 points or more: Yes OR No
Buffalo Bills @ Baltimore Ravens
This one sure brings the firepower. Both teams rank in the top 4 in yards per game and top 3 in points per game. Thanks largely to their two franchise QBs and current MVP favorites, Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson. However, where they differ completely is on Defense. The Bills D is giving up the least yards per game (214 yards) in the league while the Ravens have given up the most (458 per game!). Funny enough, a similar scenario played out last week for the Bills where they had almost 500 yards of offense vs giving up only 212 yards and still lost. Can the Ravens work some similar magic this week?
Lamar Jackson will have a Rush of 18 yards or more: Yes OR No
Josh Allen will have a Pass of 39 yards or more: Yes OR No
Total combined points at end of game of 53 or more: Yes OR No
Jacksonville Jaguars @ Philadelphia Eagles
The only remaining undefeated team, the Eagles, goes up against the team with the second best point differential in the whole NFL in the Jaguars. Quite the turn around for a Jags team that looks like an absolute mess following the Urban Meyer experiment last year. For some additional intrigue to this game, the man who was hired as their new Head Coach and has guided this turn around is none other than Super Bowl winning ex-Eagles coach Doug Pederson. Can he get revenge on his former club?
Jalen Hurts to throw for 2 or more Touchdowns: Yes OR No
Jaguars to score 20 points or more: Yes OR No
Eagles will win by 7 points or more: Yes OR No
New England Patriots @ Green Bay Packers
Well 5 to 10 years ago this game would have brought a lot more enthusiasm. Unfortunately now we have the Pats without their starting QB and top WR, and the Packers' Aaron Rodgers without a clue of who his best WRs are. This looks likely to be a battle of offensive lines and RBs as both teams present a two-headed monster in the backfield. Can the Pats duo of Rhamondre Stevenson and Damien Harris upset the Packers Aaron Jones & AJ Dillon?
Aaron Jones to score a Touchdown: Yes OR No
AJ Dillon to have a single Rush of 13 yards or more: Yes OR No
Pats RB with more total rushing yards: Stevenson OR Harris
Sunday Night Special: KC Chiefs @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The current GOAT vs the future GOAT? Tom Brady seems to think it's possible. A rematch of Super Bowl LV where Brady was the latest to come out on top, Mahomes vs Brady is always a classic. In fact, Brady only holds a slight edge over his young contemporary at a 3-2 record but each regular season game has been decided by 7 points or less. For Brady and the Bucs, it looks like they will finally have their full set of WR weapons for the first time this season. But even with that and home field advantage, this game is expected to be close as history has shown. Can Mahomes even the score in his pursuit to top Brady?
